What a QuoteCalm check can — and cannot — tell you.

QuoteCalm is operated by David McGlashan trading as QuoteCalm. QuoteCalm reviews information visible in a submitted quotation and compares it using defined calculations, available benchmark data and published consumer guidance. It does not inspect your property.
Information service, not professional advice
The service is intended to help consumers understand and compare quotations. It is not a structural survey, electrical design, legal advice, financial advice, investment advice or a guarantee that an installer, product, system design or quoted price is suitable for your home.
Property-specific factors
QuoteCalm cannot verify roof condition, shading, cable routes, grid constraints, scaffolding complexity, structural suitability, workmanship or other site-specific circumstances from a quotation alone.
Price comparisons
Any price range or comparison is indicative rather than a valuation. Installation costs can vary materially because of property access, equipment, electrical work, roof complexity, region, timing and scope. Where QuoteCalm does not have enough like-for-like evidence, the report should say so rather than provide a precise market judgement.
Installer information
A quotation mentioning MCS, RECC, TrustMark or another scheme is not treated as live verified membership unless the report explicitly says that a current verification was performed. Consumers should confirm credentials directly with the relevant scheme before committing.
Document-reading errors
Automated extraction can occasionally misread a document. You should compare important figures in the report with the original quotation and ask the installer to clarify anything uncertain before making a decision.
Availability
QuoteCalm may decline or limit an analysis where a document is unreadable, incomplete, unsupported or does not contain enough information to provide a responsible result.
