The headline figure cannot tell you on its own. A fair comparison needs to account for system size, battery capacity, equipment, roof and scaffolding requirements and what the installer has actually included.

Why solar quotes vary so much
System capacity is only one driver of price. Battery storage, hybrid inverters, multiple roof faces, access requirements, monitoring, bird protection and electrical upgrades can materially alter the final cost.
This is why a single national average should be treated as a reference point, not a definitive valuation.
